As I've been looking all over the place for a link to share for those who have reached out, wanting to donate to any cause related to the passing of Diego, the student who passed away this week after he was attacked at his Moreno Valley middle school, a listener shared this alert from the Moreno Valley Sheriff's Department's Facebook page:
!!! FRAUD ALERT !!! PLEASE SHARE AND LINK THIS POST... The photographs below represent a live “go fund me” account related to the recent tragedy at Landmark Middle School. This account is in NO WAY affiliated with or sanctioned by Diego’s family. Efforts are ongoing to identify the person responsible and take the page down.
On a related note, Diego’s family has asked the Sheriff’s Department to convey their appreciation for the outpouring of support in this most difficult of times. Having said that, Diego’s family is not seeking donations of any kind at this time.
If in the future, this situation changes, the Sheriff’s Department will formally announce fundraising efforts on behalf of the family.
In the meantime, any fundraising efforts found online or elsewhere are fraudulent.

It sickens me, but doesn't surprise me that someone would prey on the goodwill of those wanting to help Diego's family.
On another note, The MVSD also shared this sanctioned even the family is having for those who choose to support Diego's memory.
