You may or may not know, I struggled with depression in my teen years. It at times became debilitating and most of my family and friends had no idea what I was going through. I overcame my sad bout after a cry for help was heard from my parents, but sadly some teens never get then help they need, because they don't know how to ask for it, and far too many of them take their live as what they feel like is their only choice to end the pain.
A family in Corona has been through the emotional heartbreak of losing their teen to suicide and they are on a mission to make sure no family has to go through that ever again, with the opening of a Ranch for teens suffering from depression.
We started The Jewels' Angels Foundation, Inc. shortly after losing Jewels to suicide in 2016. She was only 14 years old. Our mission statement is helping teens see that they are not alone with depression and educating on the awareness and prevention of suicide.
Our goal is to save teens and other families from having to go through losing someone they love to suicide. This gave us the idea to start up the Jewels' Angels Ranch, by offering supportive, co-ed groups, led by dynamic, responsible, and well-trained leaders, teaching teens the ability to learn about themselves individually through acceptance and personal growth.
Equestrian Therapy helps to promote emotional growth and healing in individuals. Our goal is to lower the statistic rate with suicide being the second leading cause of death among teens between the ages of 14 - 24 years old.
