Keanu Reeves appears as a literal and figurative sage in the upcoming animated flick The Spongebob Movie: Sponge on the Run. In a two-minute trailer that premiered Thursday, Spongebob Squarepants is frantically looking for his pet snail Gary when he encounters Reeves as an apparition who appears in a tumbleweed made out of sagebrush. "Call me Sage. I'm made out of sage and I am a sage, so it works out pretty well," Reeves tells Spongebob and his pal Patrick in the clip. When Patrick replies that his name "means 'toaster' in Celtic," a skeptical Reeves replies, "Pretty sure it doesn't." The Spongebob Movie: Sponge on the Run hits theaters on May 22, 2020.
