Recently, firefighters had to use power tools to free a teenager's hand from a store shopping cart, according to UPI. Olivia Harol was shopping in a Marshalls store with friends in Canton, Massachusetts when she slipped four fingers through the holes in the shopping cart. They became stuck, and after 15 minutes of trying to free her hand, realized she couldn't. Her friends alerted store staff, who used ice and petroleum jelly to attempt to lubricate her fingers enough to slip out. When that was unsuccessful, the fire department was called. Ultimately they had to use a power saw to cut off a section of cart, and then use a smaller saw to free Harol's fingers individually.
