How Can You Tell the Difference Between the Flu, a Cold & COVID-19?

With flu season approaching, it's important to know if what you've come down with is just a common cold or COVID-19. And with some symptoms being so similar, it can be tough. When it comes to fevers, those that result from coronavirus tend to come on stronger and cause chills and major discomfort even if they don’t climb far past 100.4 degrees. "COVID-19 fevers are not subtle," says Panagis Galiatsatos, a physician at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. "Look beyond the number to see how the fever is making you feel." Also, while people with COVID-19 can have nasal congestion, having the virus with "just a runny nose is probably unlikely," says another expert. And colds are more likely to include a wet cough with phlegm, whereas a dry cough or loss of smell or taste can be symptomatic of COVID-19.[Source: WSJ]
