According to the Press Enterprise, Riverside County officials, following state guidelines, say to skip trick-or-treating for this Halloween. They recommend that we celebrate the holiday with members of their own household, with a list of suggested activities, including:
- Haunted houses at home
- Candy scavenger hunts at home
- Scary movie nights at home
- Halloween-themed activities, such as pumpkin-carving and face-painting, at home
- Car-based activities, such as Halloween parades, drive-thru haunted houses or drive-in scary movies
- Decorating homes and yards
There is good news for those who still plan to take the kids out to go door to door.
The request doesn’t carry the force of law with it: Sheriff Chad Bianco has said hisdeputies wouldn’t cite those who didn’t wear masksand there’s no ordinance prohibiting trick-or-treating.
No matter what you choose to do with your family, we hope you stay safe. Happy Halloween!
