The National Football League won't be flexible this year with rescheduling games due to COVID. On Thursday, the NFL sent a memo to teams saying if a game needs to be canceled because of a COVID outbreak, the team who suffered the outbreak will forfeit the contest.
Yes, that means the team will take an L.
This is huge news for the upcoming season. NFL reporter Tom Pelissero dug into the memo and reported, "the team responsible for a canceled game because of an outbreak among unvaccinated players/staff will be responsible for financial losses and subject to potential discipline from the commissioner."
A vaccinated player or team worker who tests positive can be cleared to return after two negative tests 24 hours apart. An unvaccinated player or team worker will have to isolate for 10 days.
Do you think this NFL decision is fair?
If you don't think the decision is fair what should the NFL do instead?
