Expanded Benefits: President Biden announced a plan for the biggest long-term increase in food stamp benefits, increasing them by more than 25% from pre-pandemic levels. The average benefit, which was $121 before Covid, will increase by $36 a month under the new policy, according to the USDA beginning this October. This will help many people in the IE especially since the cost of a nutritious diet has increased.
Small Business Relief: Beginning Sept. 9 though Sept. 30, a new round of funding is available for small businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible applicants are those who have been waitlisted from previous rounds of relief and new applicants that meet eligibility criteria can benefit from the grants ranging in value from $5,000 to $25,000.
