Apple is discontinuing the iPod. The revolutionary music storage device and player changed the game when it was unveiled in 2001.
After Apple started making iPhone, the company released the iPod Touch to be everything an iPhone was without the ability to make cellular calls. Since most people have music on their phones or stream tunes, there's less of a market for the iPod.
On Tuesday, Apple announced that the remaining supply of the 7th generation iPod Touch will be available "while supplies last."
