Keep an eye on your local Target. There could be some deep discounts coming.
During an investor call, Target CEO Brian Cornell said the company is planning to markdown "unwanted merchandise." The plan is to sell items at clearance prices to make way for things customers are craving, like groceries, beauty and household items, and seasonal products like back-to-school gear.
CNBC reports that several retailers are trying to move items that have suddenly become abundant such as sweats, pajamas, and pillows. People were looking for these products during the height of the pandemic.
