Anne Heche was not under the influence of alcohol when she crashed her car into a home last Friday, but she was under the influence of cocaine.
On Thursday a report from TMZ stated that Anne had cocaine in her system, according to a source from the LAPD. Fentanyl was also reportedly in her system.
Later in a statement released Thursday night, Anne's rep tells TMZ, "Unfortunately, due to her accident, Anne Heche suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and remains in a coma, in critical condition. She is not expected to survive."
Ellen DeGeneres, Anne's ex-girlfriend, reacted to the crash on Wednesday. The two dated from 1997 to 2000. “We’re not in touch with each other, so I wouldn’t know.” Still, DeGeneres confirmed she wants to send her well wishes and said on camera, “I don’t want anyone to be hurt.”
Anne's condition has not improved since she was admitted to the hospital. Her rep says that plans have been put in place to possibly donate Anne's organs, "It has long been her choice to donate her organs and she is being kept on life support to determine if any are viable."
