Drink Champs gave Kanye West a platform over the weekend. The interview had mixed reactions. Here are a few of the highlights:
Ye went "Ye" and brought up more outrageous theories. West talked about a conspiracy theory about George Floyd's death.
He said, "I watched the George Floyd documentary that Candace Owens put out. One of the things that his two roommates said was they want a tall guy like me, and the day that he died, he said a prayer for eight minutes. They hit him with the fentanyl. If you look, the guy’s knee wasn’t even on his neck like that."
Because of his comments, an attorney for the Floyd family spoke out on Sunday. Lee Merritt tweeted, "While one cannot defame the dead, the family of #GeorgeFloyd is considering suit for Kanye’s false statements about the manner of his death. Claiming Floyd died from fentanyl not the brutality established criminally and civilly undermines & diminishes the Floyd family’s fight."
Kanye continued his criticism of Jewish people controlling Black culture.
He said, "Jewish people have owned the Black voice, either it’s through us wearing the Ralph Lauren shirt, or it’s all of us being signed to a record label, or having a Jewish manager, or being signed to a Jewish basketball team, or doing a movie on a Jewish platform like Disney. I respect what the Jewish people have done, and how they brought their people together."
Ye added, "They been f—ing with me for too long. They put the crazy narrative out there.” He added, “Paparazzi taking a photo of you, you ain’t getting no money off of it. You’re used to getting screwed by the Jewish media."
West also said that So-Fi Stadium in Los Angeles canceled four of his concerts because of his recent comments.
As if that wasn't enough, Kanye went in on Diddy and Meek Mill specifically. He said, "All these fake hard n****s, f**k you! All you fake hard n*****s, f**k you! Y'all can't shoot nobody noways."
