It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown has been a Halloween tradition for years. The beloved annual Halloween special premiered on CBS in 1966, one year after the popular Peanuts crew released the other holiday favorite, A Charlie Brown Christmas.
Recently the Peanuts holiday specials were moved to AppleTV+ as part of a new corporate deal in 2020, marking the first time it wouldn't be shown on public TV.
Last year it was moved back to public TV to PBS but this year, PBS no longer has the rights and confirmed that it won't be airing the Halloween show.
Here comes the good news. For non-subscribers, you won't need a subscription to watch it. Apple TV+ will make It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown free to stream for everyone from Oct. 28-31.
