Although Eminem and his mother may not have gotten along well, Debbie Mathers didn't let that stop her from sharing her joy with her successful son.
“Marshall, I want to say I could not let this day go by without congratulating you on your induction into the Hall of Fame,” Debbie began proudly. “I love you very much. I knew you’d get there. It’s been a long ride. I’m very, very proud of you.” She also spoke of her granddaughter, Hailie Jade, “And also, I’m very proud of Hailie Jade, my big girl,” Debbie continued. “I want to tell you, Hailie, great job on your podcast, and God bless you guys. I love you very much.”
Eminem hasn’t always spoken nicely about his mother, including her in several songs where he rapped about her drug abuse. Eminem has since reconciled with his mother. In the song “Headlights,” Em rapped, “I don’t hate you ‘cause, Ma, you’re still beautiful to me.”
