The floats for this year's Rose Parade, a Southern California staple, are already well under construction and if you are one of the brave ones who will plan to camp out for the early morning parade on New Year's Day, props to you! But if you won't be able to make it to the parade while it's winding through it's Pasadena route, there is another way to see the Rose Parade floats up close and in person post-parade. It's called Floatfest.

Floatfest offers a wonderful chance to walk close to the beautiful floats stretching over 2 miles along Sierra Madre Ave and Washington Blvd. This year Floatfest will run Jan 2nd (right after the parade) and all day Jan 3rd. *Here's why the parade is not on New Year's Day this year.

Tickets for Floatfest are only $20 and can be purchased ahead of time.

The San Bernardino Sun offers some "pro-tips" for visiting Floatfest, so be sure to check that out if you plan to go.
