In just one year, Snoop Dogg is going from performing Super Bowl weekend - to captaining a team. It was announced yesterday that Snoop will be captaining the AFC in this year's Pro Bowl, with head coach Peyton Manning at his side. Across the field, Pete Davidson has been named captain for the NFC, which will have Eli Manning as their head coach.
"I'm comin' back to the NFL field, but this time, instead of performing, I'm going head-to-head with Pete and competing for the title of The Pro Bowl Games Champion," the legendary rapper told People magazine. "The competition is going to go off, but we all know that Peyton and our AFC squad are gonna do some big things. We'll end up on that podium."
As for Davidson, he explains that he is taking part in the annual sporting event with family in mind. "I'm doing this to impress my Uncle Mike," and while that could be true, the comedian is also a professed New York Giants - and Eli Manning - fan, so that may have something to do with it.
The 2023 Pro Bowl Games air live on Thursday, February 2 starting at 7 pm ET on ESPN, when players voted to the Pro Bowl will compete in eight epic skills challenges. Players will continue competing in skills challenges and take part in a non-contact flag football game the following Sunday, February 5. [Read More]
