The nominations for the Academy Awards were announced this morning. Of course, every performer and movie couldn't get recognized. Here are some of the Oscar snubs for 2023:
- Even though Top Gun: Maverick was nominated for Best Picture, Tom Cruise did not get a nod for Best Actor.
- The Academy didn't nominate one female director. Several favorites were Sarah Polley for Women Talking, Charlotte Wells for Aftersun, and Gina Prince-Bythewood for The Woman King.
- Speaking of The Woman King, Viola Davis was left off the Best Actress list.
- Other notable acting snubs include Adam Sandler for Hustle and Brad Pitt for Babylon.
