According to The Wrap, Jenna Ortega is committed to Scream 7 to reprise her role as Tara Carpenter despite her busy schedule.
Following her career-boosting role as Wednesday Addams in Netflix's Wednesday, many questioned whether her new level of popularity would rule her out.
Now that the writer's strike is over, Beetlejuice 2 needs to finish filming first, and so will the entirety of Wednesday Season 2 before she can begin work on Scream 7.
The good news is Beetlejuice 2, hitting theaters on September 6, 2024, is "99% done," according to director Tim Burton (via The Independent).
Every major studio has to prioritize projects with the writers' strike ending, and Wednesday Season 2 is "top of mind" for Netflix. Once she gets through that, Jenna's schedule will open up to start Scream 7, which will most likely be released sometime in 2025.
